Samuels Recycling Company was established in 1896 in Portage, WI and was acquired by Alter Trading Corporation in December of 2006. The Madison facility was established in the late 1960s when the Samuels' family purchased an existing recycling facility. It has expanded and grown into one of the largest recyclers in Wisconsin.

The Alter Madison facility recycles all types of ferrous and non-ferrous materials and serves the general public, commercial, industrial and municipal accounts. Capabilities include:

  • Shear to process ferrous materials
  • Variety of non-ferrous processing capabilities

The Madison metal recycling facility is heavily involved in the community - supporting a variety of charities such as the Second Harvest Foodbank, Salvation Army, Elks Lodge and Toys 4 Tots.
